Clay Nickel – Sr. Vice President, Chief Investment Officer & Strategist, Arvest Wealth Management


As Chief Investment Officer and Strategist, Clay is responsible for the strategic investment direction of the investment models and portfolios managed by the Investment management Group and Arvest Bank Trust. Additionally, he oversees the development of capital market assumptions to be utilized in strategic investment decisions, the development and management of assets allocations as implemented, research on mutual funds, ETFs and outside managers, and communication of investment strategy to Arvest Wealth Management associates and clients.


Previously, Clay served as a fixed income portfolio manager for private and institutional clients of Arvest Wealth Management, lead manager for the Investment Management Group’s Adaptive Portfolio Strategy, and as co-manager for the Strategic Taxable Fixed Income and Strategic Model Portfolios. Prior to joining Arvest in 2010, he was a portfolio manager for a $4 billion community bank in the Midwest and has more than two decades of investment management experience.


Clay is a graduate of Wichita State University. Additionally, he has completed Columbia University’s Academy of Certified Portfolio Management. Clay is also a member of the Chartered Financial Analyst Institute and the Kansas City Society of Chartered Financial Analysts.


David Lynch – Commercial Banker III, Arvest Bank Oil and Gas Lending


David Lynch joined Arvest in December of 2022 as a Commercial Banker III.  Prior to joining Arvest, he was with Chesapeake Energy for sixteen years working as the Manager of Natural Gas Trading, Transportation, and Scheduling.  He also spent time working as a Commercial Advisor for the Mid-Stream, Transportation and Storage teams and as a Staff Landman in multiple basins throughout the United States.  He has also worked for First Fidelity Bank in Oklahoma City as a Commercial Lender, Credit Analyst, Area Manager, and Financial Services Rep.  David has a Finance Degree from the University of Central Oklahoma and a Masters of Business Administration from West Texas A&M University.
