Special Guest Speaker | Casey Blackford 

Casey began his professional career with the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety, retiring in 2011 as the Commercial Driver License Program Director after 22 years of state service.

Since 2011, he has worked with insurance carriers, transportation and in the oilfield service industry in key leadership positions, managing EHS, risk and transportation safety programs. Casey joined McGriff in 2021 and brings extensive knowledge of fleet safety programs, best practices, OSHA compliance and managing employee behaviors.

He provides risk management consultations as a value-added service for McGriff transportation, construction and energy group clients and attends client insurance surveys to assist with the interface between prospective clients, existing clients, and insurance carriers. He also assists McGriff producers with technical inquiries related to DOT and OSHA regulatory requirements.

Casey is a member of the American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP) and serves on the crash investigations, driver/traffic enforcement and hazardous materials committees with the Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance (CVSA).  Casey was also chairman of the 2017 Oklahoma Truck Driving Championships held by the Oklahoma Trucking Association.

His areas of expertise include:

• Working knowledge of OHSA regulations and many consensus standards relating to employee health and safety
• Strong working knowledge of FMCSRs and the Compliance, Safety and Accountability (CSA) methodologies
• Experience in deploying and managing fleet IoT systems with AI technology
• Proven effective in modifying or eliminating undesired employee behaviors
• Hands-on experience with managing transportation safety programs

Check-In:

With our new web site and registration system we now have the ability to check in using a technology we’ve all become familiar with – a QR Code (see photo to the right). Upon payment and registration completion you will receive a “ticket” in your email that includes a QR Code. Please have that email (or QR Code) pulled up on your mobile device as you prepare to check in to speed up the process. Your code will be scanned at the registration desk and you’ll be checked in. Once checked in, you can pick up your name tag and drink tickets. Note: that the QR Code is specific to your registration for this meeting and will not work otherwise.
